Literature Text

The space of time in which you take to hear what I've said, "I love you", is just enough time for me to hear the pause of you deciding what you want to say. Should you say the words and risk the chance of being overheard? I hear you pondering how to respond and I know now in the cool, crisp 3 seconds it took you to choke out the words, "bye for now" what you have decided. I guess you've decided to peddle out insincerity when you have to write out the words to tell me what I want to hear. I've decided I've had enough. Either say it or don't. Make a decision. You can't have it both ways. You either want to love me but you can't, want to have hope but won't, or you are just ashamed to expel the words from your lips but will let them be heard from a source a greater distance from your heart. The space between your lips and your fingertips equals the distance between us and what we have had and that encompasses the 3 second long pause on the phone. Decisions, decisions, my love. Let's hang up now, shall we?
